Itinerary
Arrival in Kathmandu (1,275m)
Upon your arrival at Kathmandu Airport, please complete the required customs formalities, including visa processing. Our representative will be waiting at the arrival gate holding an Everest View Treks and Expedition sign to assist you. You will then be transferred to Hotel Marshyangdi or a hotel of similar standard.

Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,800m / 9,184 ft) and Trek to Chhuthang (3,020m / 9,905 ft) [4-5 hours]
Today, we take an early morning scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, where we meet our trekking crew. The trek begins as we head east, passing several small villages before entering the dense forest along the hillside beneath the Kalo Himal Ridge. Please remain with the group as multiple trails diverge from the main path. The area is crossed by numerous streams, collectively referred to as Chhuthang.

Trek from Chhuthang to Tuli Kharka (4,100m / 13,448 ft) via Zatrawala Pass (4,600m / 15,088 ft) [5-6 hours]
After an early breakfast, we continue our trek along a steep ascending trail towards Zatrawala Pass at 4,600 meters. From the top of the pass, enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Numbur Himal, Kongdi Ri, Karyolang Peak and several other stunning Himalayan summits. After a rewarding time at the pass, the trail levels out for approximately one and a half hours before descending downhill to Tuli Kharka, where we spend the night.

Trek from Tuli Kharka to Kothe (4,182m / 13,716 ft) [6-7 hours]
Today, the trail from Tuli Kharka combines both uphill and downhill trekking through dense forests of rhododendron, oak, pine, and juniper trees. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking views of Mera Peak and the surrounding snow-capped mountains. The route includes a steep descent to the Hinku River, followed by a final uphill climb to Kothe, located on the western side of the Hinku Valley. Kothe offers a peaceful wilderness surrounded by lush vegetation, providing a serene overnight stop for trekkers.

Trek from Kothe to Thangnak (4,326m / 14,189 ft) [4-5 hours]
From Kothe, the trail follows the ridge of the Hinku River towards Gondishung. Along the way, we pass Lungsumgba Gompa, a monastery built approximately 200 years ago. Here, trekkers can see Mera Peak and its climbing route depicted on rock, showcasing an impressive example of traditional rock carving architecture. The trek then continues along a relatively easy trail leading to the summer grazing area of Thangnak, where a number of shops and quality tea houses are available for overnight accommodation.

Trek from Thangnak to Khare (5,000m / 16,400 ft) [5-6 hours]
From Thangnak, the trail ascends along the lateral moraine towards the Hinku Nup and Shar Glaciers. The trek then continues with a steep climb leading to Khare, where trekkers are rewarded with magnificent views of the northern face of Mera Peak. Upon arrival, we spend an extra day at Khare for acclimatization and exploration to prepare for the high-altitude climb ahead.

Rest and Acclimatization at Khare with Climbing Training
Acclimatization is essential at higher altitudes to prevent altitude-related sickness. Since we are above 5,000 meters, we spend a rest day at Khare for proper acclimatization and exploration. This day ensures that trekkers are well-prepared for a successful summit of Mera Peak.
During the day, our Sherpa team will inspect all climbing equipment, including ropes, ice axes, crampons, harnesses and other gear. Under the guidance of Everest View Treks and Expedition climbing guides, trekkers will receive a short training session on essential techniques, such as rope fixing and belaying, which are crucial for the upcoming climb.

Trek from Khare to Mera Base Camp (5,300m / 17,384 ft) [3-4 hours]
Leaving Khare, we embark on a short but technically challenging trek towards Mera Peak Base Camp. The trail gradually ascends to the Mera Glacier, followed by a steep climb to the top of the glacier. From there, we traverse along the glacier to reach Mera Peak Base Camp.
Upon arrival, our Sherpa crew will set up the camp and make the necessary preparations for the next stage of the climb.

Trek from Mera Base Camp to Mera High Camp (5,700m / 18,696 ft) [3-4 hours]
Departing from Mera Base Camp, we follow a trail that ascends through Mera La Pass and continues along a rocky, often snow-covered path toward Mera Peak High Camp. Upon arrival, our Sherpa crew will set up the tents and conduct necessary checks on climbers’ health conditions and equipment to ensure readiness for the summit attempt.
From the high camp, trekkers are rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of Mount Everest, Makalu, Nuptse, Cho Oyu, Baruntse, and Chamlang, offering a spectacular preview of the Himalayan giants.

Summit Mera Peak (6,476m / 21,241 ft) and Descend to Khare
Fully acclimatized and properly equipped, we start early in the morning with the goal of reaching the summit of Mera Peak before noon, as strong winds after midday can pose challenges. The climb begins around 2:00 AM following a light breakfast. The route ascends the glacier and continues onto a ridge.
Guided by our experienced climbing experts, trekkers follow the safest path to the Mera Peak summit. Upon reaching the top, enjoy breathtaking views of five prominent 8,000-meter peaks: Mount Everest (8,848m), Cho Oyu (8,201m), Makalu (8,463m), Kanchenjunga (8,586m), Nuptse (7,855m) and Chamlang (7,319m).
After spending time at the summit, we descend along the same route to reach Khare for our overnight stay.

Trek from Khare to Kothe [5-6 hours]
After successfully summiting Mera Peak, we begin our descent from Khare, retracing the trail through Thangnak and onward to Kothe. The trek is mostly downhill, gradually leaving the high-altitude environment and entering dense sub-tropical forests of rhododendron, oak, pine, and birch trees.
We continue along the trail until reaching Kothe, where we spend the night at a comfortable tea house.

Trek from Kothe to Tuli Kharka [5-6 hours]
Leaving Kothe, the trail ascends through dense rhododendron forests along the western section of the Hinku Valley toward Tuli Kharka. From this vantage point, trekkers can enjoy magnificent views of Mera North, Mera Central, and the South Face of Mera Peak.

Trek from Tuli Kharka to Lukla via Zatrawala Pass [6 hours]
Today marks the final day of our trek. From Tuli Kharka, we begin with a gentle ascent to Zatrawala Pass. After reaching the top, we descend along the trail, making our way back to Lukla. In the evening, we celebrate our successful Mera Peak climb together with the trekking crew, sharing memories of the adventure.

Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu and Transfer to Hotel
In the early morning, we take a scenic flight from Lukla to Kathmandu, enjoying breathtaking views of the Himalayas along the way. Upon arrival at Kathmandu Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure, allowing you to rest at the hotel or explore remaining sites in Kathmandu that were not visited earlier in the trip.

Fly Home – Farewell to Nepal
Today marks the end of your unforgettable journey in Nepal. We hope you have enjoyed your tour with us and that the memories of the Himalayas will inspire your next adventure. Approximately three hours before your scheduled flight, a representative from Everest View Treks and Expedition will transfer you to Kathmandu Airport. You will have ample time to prepare for your departure and reflect on the incredible experiences from your Himalayan adventure.
