Kot Dada-1 day Hike
The Kot Dada Hike is a refreshing one-day hiking trip that begins from Godavari, one of the greenest and most peaceful places in the Kathmandu Valley, located just 14 km from the city center. Nestled at the foothills of Phulchoki Hill (2,791 m), Godavari is renowned for its natural beauty, sacred Godavari Kunda, secret water sources, and ancient stone carvings of Hindu deities. It is also home to temples and hosts the Maha Kumbha Mela, attracting pilgrims and visitors alike. Beyond its religious and cultural significance, Godavari is a popular picnic spot, offering hikers a serene starting point for the scenic trail toward Bishankhunarayan (Kotdanda).

Itinerary
We start our day tour from Godavari on the way to Kotdanda enjoying natural beauty of Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, Dorge Lakpa Himal. Along the way we can enjoy the beautiful scenery of alpine forest, rhododendron flowers and life of local village too.
07:00 AM – Meet at Everest View Treks & Expedition Office
Gather at the office for a quick briefing before departure.
07:15 AM – Drive to Godavari (14 km / approx. 45 minutes)
A scenic drive out of the city, leading you to Godavari, one of the greenest and most peaceful gateways of Kathmandu Valley.
08:00 AM – Preparation at Godavari
Last-minute shopping for water, snacks, or light supplies before the hike begins.
08:15 AM – Hike Begins
Start your uphill hike through alpine forests, blooming rhododendrons (in season), and charming local villages. After about 2 hours of steady hiking, reach Chapakharka Danda for your first viewpoint.
11:00 AM – Continue to Kot Dada
Trek up and down along forested ridges until you reach Kot Dada, where you’ll stop for a lunch break.
(Note: There is a small army canteen offering tea, noodles, and snacks, but it’s best to carry your own water and packed lunch for comfort.)
12:30 PM – Descend to Bishankhunarayan
Resume the trail and hike down toward the sacred Bishankhunarayan temple area, a site of spiritual and cultural importance.
04:00 PM – Return to Kathmandu
Meet your vehicle at Bishankhunarayan and drive back to Kathmandu. Drop-off at Everest View Treks Office.
